The Da Ignazio restaurant can be found in the heart of the S.Polo sestiere, in the Calle dei Saoneri, near Casa Goldoni and the Basilica dei Frari. This historic eating place, established in 1951, has always been managed by the Scroccaro family.
The restaurant is housed in two bright rooms with large windows overlooking a classic yet rare inner courtyard shaded by the foliage of an old Virginia creeper. The courtyard was once used for games of bocce but now guests can enjoy their lunch here in the warmer months.
In the finest Venetian tradition, freshly-caught fish is the basis of all the dishes on offer, accompanied by seasonal vegetables. The menu though will satisfy anyone’s appetite with a variety of delicious options including meat dishes, first courses of homemade pasta or risotto, vegetarian dishes, a selection of cheese to be relished with various preserves and a rich plateau of homemade desserts.
Great attention is given coeliacs by providing specific gluten-free dishes.
The wine cellar offers over 300 labels including organic wines, highly prized national and international wine labels, craft beers, champagne and sweet wines as well as a wide selection of grappa, whisky, cognac and other spirits.
Average price: € 45.00 (wine and drinks excluded)
